Health & Safety Statement June 2020
At TLC BEAUTY SALON I am committed to protecting the safety and health of my staff and our clients in relation to all treatments carried out at our salon.
This policy is here to provide and maintain the strict procedures i have to ensure safe and healthy working conditions, maintenance and care of equipment, continual professional development and up to date training and of course the care and safety of the staff and the clients.
I am committed to continuously reviewing my procedures and where possible and necessary , improving upon them. Especially in these current times I am constantly taking into account any new mandatory legislation that may arise.
I ensure the safety of:
*The treatment room – all chairs and workstations are a suitable height , they are cleaned, disinfected and well maintained. Wash basin is provided in some rooms whereby also cleaned and disinfected , disposable hand towels are provided to dry hands.
There is sufficient ventilation within the treatment room. There are no wires , trailing leads or trip hazards. Spillages are cleaned up immediately.
Lighting is sufficient.
*The water supply is maintained regularly.
*All equipment is fit for purpose and maintained.
*Handling of products and equipment and full training prior to offering treatments .
*I will do everything possible to prevent any accidents. In the case of an accident I have a first aid kit and an accident record book- if ever required.
*Continue to monitor our COVID-19 response and amend the plan in consultation with our workers
*Provide up to date information to our workers on the Public Health advice issued by the HSE and Gov.ie
*Display information on the signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and correct hand-washing techniques
*Provide an adequate number of trained Worker Representative(s) who are easily identifiable and put in place a reporting system .
*Inform all workers of essential hygiene and respiratory etiquette and physical distancing requirements.
*Adapt the workplace to facilitate physical distancing
*Keep a contact log to help with contact tracing .
* Have all workers undergo an induction / familiarisation briefing .
* develop a procedure to be followed in the event of someone showing symptoms of COVID-19 while at work or in the workplace.
*Provide instructions for workers to follow if they develop signs and symptoms of COVID-19 during work .
*Intensify cleaning in line with government advice
I will review these procedures regularly.
